Business case
The CEO of Trueways Enterprises Ltd, Irene Mumo, asked SharePeople to look for an Expert who could coach them in a process of strategic reorientation. The CEO has the ambition to turn Trueways into a self-sustainable company by expanding the business and entering regional and international exports markets. A good match was made with Corné de Louw
because of his expertise and his holistic approach. Corné was co-developing a roadmoap for the long term during his stay in Nairobi, Kenya.
Results
Analysis
The Expert gathered lots of information and has visited many organizations to get integrated into the business case. For a systematic and structured analysis of the market structure and competitive situation Corné made use of marketing theories like Porters' model of five competitive forces and the 7-S framework of mcKinsey. These models helped him to effectively analyze the company and also gave him insight on how the company should be organised. Corné mainly concluded that the way Trueways operates nowadays isn't sustainable!
Advice
The expert made, together with the Board of Trueways, a roadmap for the next five years to become a self-sustainable. A detailed report has been delivered to SharePeople and Trueways.
Impact on the Partners
Corné has experienced how it is to work out of his comfortzone in a foreign country. Irene Mumo got more familiar with her own pitfalls in managing the company.
Follow up
This is a start of a two-year partnership between SharePeople and Trueways. Both organisations will keep in touch (a.o. via the SharePeople liaison, at least every 3 months). The case owner is responsible to realize the aims of the roadmap but the expert will keep in touch. After this Programme, an official update on the status of the organisation takes place every 12 months. With this information, a new Programme is one of the possibilities to boost the organisation if needed. Participation in a yearly SharePeople Experience Week is also an option.
