Kristine Dik consulted a Filipino organisation on setting up a road map to achieve the end goal: sustainability

About the organisation
AmazingFoods Corporation is a Filipino organisation which produces all kinds of oils and soap, all based on the (in plenty available) coconuts.

The business case
AmazingFoods Corporation needed some assistance in the development of their business plan. Via SharePeople Kristine Dik was brought into contact with the Filipino organisation. She consulted the organisation on setting up a road map with milestones to achieve the end goal: sustainability. Also some financial analysis was included. Kristine Dik was found very suitable to consult them because of her financial background and experience in consulting.

Analysis

Kristine analyzed: "The sales in the last few years have not been sufficient for a regular production and the profit have been too small to fully achieve their Triple P objectives. However, the organisation has a good growth potential and good opportunities for becoming fully sustainable"

Advice
They could achieve the 3 aspects in their management goals; people, planet, profit (Triple P). But now, they should maintain focus and take the right steps. Kristine made recommendations to do so on the short-term , mid-term and long-term. For instance a recommendation for the short term is to increase sales prices and move from fixed prices to negotiable prices. For the midterm they should work on internal competences and do monthly financial analysis.

For the long term it is recommended to expand the production capacity by setting up a new plant and acquiring for an office and storage room in the area of Manila.

Impact on the partners

Kristine Dik: "I developed myself by adapting to another culture while studying a company in such a short time and looking for improvements"

Jessica (Social entrepreneur): "SharePeople can identify what you truly need and guide you on how to lead to that road of success."

Follow up
HEMA, Kristine's employer, is considering to sell the products in their shops. This is a start of a two-year partnership between SharePeople and AmazingFoods. Both organisations will keep in touch (a.o. via the SharePeople liaison, at least every 3 months), and with the expert as well. After this Programme, an official update on the status of the organisation takes place every 12 months. With this information, a new Programme is one of the possibilities to boost the organisation if needed. Participation in a yearly SharePeople Experience Week is also an option.

2012:

Kristine is now importing coconut oil from Amazing Foods to the Netherlands. Check the website of Under The Cocomoon for more information and to place an order.
