About the company
In 2000 a fully equipped Ayurvedic clinic along with alternative system of medicines was placed near to Indore city, India. The clinic called Asha Nilaya Arogya Dham includes a herbal garden with 200 varieties of medicinal plants for preparation of medicines and a old age home. Their mission is to ensure healthy environment and society through which the needy and neglected can benefit their moral and material support to live a dignified life.

The aim of the business case was to support the development and marketing activities of the organization. Although the case could have been more challenging, senior experience was requested to handle this business case due to political and emotional problems in the catholic organization and its environment.
Analysis
The sisters and employees, and other relevant persons within and supporting the organization were interviewed in order to get a clear view on the business case and the assignment. Information was also collected from yearly reports and the internet. The conclusion of this analysis was that the organization could not sustain in the current set up. The organization lacked a mission, vision, strategy and a business approach.

Advice to the organization is to change the current situation and to make clear decisions on strategy, only use freshly prepared medicine or medicine from well-known brands, expand the organization, and start collaborations with other organizations. The expert created a paper to facilitate the decision making process about the future of Ashanilaya. She also presented the organization financial information for a clinic in Indore and realized some new networking and collaborating opportunities. She also created awareness of the possibilities of using people from within the organization for the concept of integrative medicine and she created awareness of the need of the concept of integrative medicine.

The organization will meet the provincial and counseling board to discuss the decision paper and will start with yoga and meditation at Ashanilaya. Further long term future plans will depend on the decision made by the provincial and counseling board.
