Participation Expert Programme

Procedure

 

1. Application

You can apply either via a direct application through one of our current project vacancies at a social entrepreneur, or through open registration. In mutual agreement, we will find you an appropriate case based on your wishes, availability, and expertise.

 

2. Match with a social entrepreneur

Once we have found you a suitable case, and you and the social entrepreneur both agree, you will be matched.

 

3. Preparation

During our preparation day, you and other participants undergo intensive training in working, communicating and personal development in a different culture, as well as in safety and the SharePeople method in order to make your stay most agreeable and effective. You will also examine your case further and contact one of our local liaisons, and the social entrepreneur with whom you have been paired up. Additionally, we will put you in contact with ex-participants (SharePeople Ambassadors), who can share their experiences in working together with social entrepreneurs in different countries. Some of those ambassadors even worked with the same social entrepreneur!

 

4. A Project in a Developing Country

Throughout your project on location, which will last two to six weeks, you will be coached (from a distance) by the liaison and/or a programme manager.

 

5. Evaluation and Intervision

After your return, we will invite you for an evaluation during which we will discuss the cooperation, results, and your project follow up. You will also have the opportunity to attend an intervision assembly, during which you and other participants can reflect upon your learning process.

 

6. Ambassadors Network: ShareDrinks

Upon return, you are officially a SharePeople Ambassador. Your acquired knowledge and experience is inspiring to many of your colleagues, friends, and acquaintances. Bring them along and meet other participants at one of the ShareDrinks!

 

Fees

International travel expenses (flight) are the participant's. The social entrepreneur in the developing country will pay for accommodation, food, and transportation on location. SharePeople charges for participation in the Expert Programme. These numbers vary per case.
