The SharePeople Expert Programme allows you to share your knowledge in a developing country for a short period of time (two to six weeks). Alongside a local social entrepreneur, you deal with challenges he or she faces. This experience offers you a unique chance to combine forces with a ‘driver of change' in a developing country and to develop yourself professionally as well as personally.

 

Sharing Knowledge with Social Entrepreneurs in Developing Countries

SharePeople will pair you, and your specific knowledge, with a social entrepreneur in a developing country. Many social entrepreneurs in developing countries face challenges and opportunities, but sometimes lack the knowledge and experience to deal with these.

 

Your specific knowledge and experience is invaluable to them. By spending a short period of time working closely together with the social entrepreneur, you will map out the chances and opportunities together and work towards resolving those. This allows the social entrepreneur to expand his own enterprise, generating jobs and income for the underprivileged in the community.

 

Personal and Professional Development

The social entrepreneur is not the only one who benefits from this exchange of knowledge, you will also find yourself learning intensively from this experience, both personally and professionally. As you will work within your own field of expertise, you can apply and develop your knowledge in a completely different working environment. On a personal level you will have to cope with differences in culture and other (social-economic) conditions. That is why this ‘out of comfort zone' experience gives you the chance to continue developing your competences. SharePeople supports you in this by means of workshops and extensive coaching.

 

Inspiration & Social Entrepreneurship

Social entrepreneurs are deeply inspired people and true ‘drivers of change'. They use their entrepreneurship to solve social issues and to create jobs and income for their community. This intrinsic motivation is contagious. In those two to six weeks that you are working together, you will achieve great results. You will take the fervour, inspiration, and energy that you gained there back home.
